Annapolis Professional Headshots | Corporate Headshot Photography

Since 1920, the Jaycees organization has trained more than 12 million young Americans to become better business and community leaders. Young adults between the ages of 18 and 40 learn business and management skills through training and participation in community service projects.  

Professional headshots are more important than ever to young professionals in today’s digital world. They are used everywhere, from personal profile websites and LinkedIn to publicity and media sites. Unfortunately, because of smartphones, everyone is a photographer, and young businesspeople sometimes think selfies are good enough for professional purposes. Even if someone uses a smartphone stand, the resulting photo will usually not produce an impressive headshot. It’s hard to look natural when you are taking your own picture. A professional headshot, taken by an expert photographer, fortifies your business reputation rather than detracting from it. 

To reinforce the importance of using expertly taken headshots for professional profiles and publicity, the Annapolis Jaycees organization wanted to schedule headshots for all interested members. We met at Lawyer’s Mall in Annapolis and wandered around to five spots in that area to get different background looks for each person. Each person decided on their own style of dress, and I tried a few different angles or poses to provide them with a several choices. The neutral but professional backgrounds of brick buildings, steps, walks, and landscaping were ideal. Outdoor light provides an energy that indoor lighting can’t, and sunlight gives the photos an upbeat, natural feel. We also took a group picture to commemorate the event. It was a fun morning. Everyone who participated had a great attitude toward the project, and we all really enjoyed the mini headshot session.
